Bridges have always been close to the heart of Iranian identity. Isfahan, Iran’s top tourist destination and a former capital of Persia, boasts two spectacular bridges from the 16th century Safavid dynasty when the city was at the centre of Islamic art and culture.

The Nature Bridge (Persian: Pole Tabiat‎) is the largest pedestrian overpass built in Tehran, Iran. The 270-metre (890 ft) bridge connects two public parks—Taleghani Park and Abo-Atash Park—by spanning Modarres Expressway, one of the main highways in northern Tehran.

The bridge was designed by Leila Araghian and Alireza Behzadi/ Diba Tensile Architecture. It has won several awards, including the Popular Choice Prize for Highways & Bridges from the Architizer A+ Awards, a global architectural competition based in New York, and the 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

The bridge is a prefect observation deck for taking photos of Tehran with background of Alborz mountains
